Our ethos

Our ethos at Church view centres around providing an environment which enables children
to thrive in a home that feels nurturing, warm, and safe.
The environment will be created by
a dedicated staff team that will have high values of unconditional positive regard and a
fantastic knowledge of current issues that vulnerable children face. Through this, excellent
working relationships will be formed which will allow the children to tackle their challenges
and make valuable progress. The team at Church view will work with the children as long as
necessary to meet their identified needs and it is expected that the children will stay in
placement on a long-term basis.
The children will receive bespoke care where they are treated as an individual. They will be
actively encouraged to become a positive member of the local community whilst assisting
them to develop the skills to live independently and develop resilience to allow them to be
able to cope effectively with significant life changes.
We will aim to ensure that the children’s physical, emotional, and psychological health
needs are met through effective placement planning, key working and identifying
appropriate support. We will ensure that staff members and key workers consult with the
children about their health needs so that they understand key health risks and begin to take
responsibility for their own health leading to a reduction in behaviour and decision making
that would have a negative impact on their health such as smoking or alcohol/substance
misuse.
Positive contact with family and other significant individuals that are important to the young
person will always be supported and facilitated as we believe it is imperative developing a
strong sense of self identity.
We will ensure that the right education placement is sought for the young person and that
they are fully supported and equipped to have excellent attendance and achieve to their full
potential based on their ability at the point of placement. We will also ensure that when we
work with education placements and schools we will positively advocate for the young
person at all stages.
The registered manager will ensure that the young person’s views are considered with
regards to the development of staff and the home. The views and opinions of other
professionals, family members and wider stakeholders will also be considered on all aspects
of care to ensure there is a holistic approach and understanding that will in turn lead to
better outcomes.
